McMillan Filter Plant, North Capitol Street, Washington, DC. Rows of large Silos loom mysteriously just out of sight from the U.S.Capitol toward Michigan Avenue along North Capitol Street. These.structures, now abandoned, are part of the original McMillan Filter Plant, an aqueduct system built to clean and filter Washington's water.supply in 1906. With new technological advances, the facility was abandoned in the mid-1980s. The silos stored sand that was laboriously.moved to adjacent underground aqueducts to filter the city's water. I shot a series of photos at the abandoned facility each season over the course of a year. .Print Sizes (in inches): 10x10, 15x15, 24x24, 36x36, 48x48
